I followed your recipe for the rump roast done in the oven and it came out perfect and delicious. We also did the shoulder roast out on the grill. We tried to keep the temperature low by moving the coals to one side and the meat to the other. I mixed a McCormick Mediteranean Sea Salt blend with some olive oil and brushed that on and it was also fantastic. All of our guests though it was fabulous. I had also printed out some of your web pages so that they could look over all the information. I hope it leads to more customers for you. I have also mentioned your farm to many coworkers and even my bank teller. Again I hope it leads to more customers for you. I love to talk about a good thing!I do have one more question. How often do you take animals to the butcher? Just once a year or more often than that. This is Kathy Junkin, I was the first one to pick up the beef order Saturday morning. I am just writing to let you know that we had a few of the Delmonico steaks and a NY Strip yesterday. I was right to be excited to taste your beef...it was so sweet! I never thought I'd say that about beef. Also, I don't know if it was just that cut of meat but it was so tender! There was almost a buttery odor to it. Although we have been eating grassfed beef for a while, part of my hesitation in ordering a large order was because it has been an adjustment to the grassfed. We have tried meat from three other places (Pennsylvania, South Carolina, and Missouri) and the meat was always decent but had a much stronger flavor, very "gamey". Almost like deer meat. Sometimes the flavor was so strong it would almost overpower the flavor of any sauce I was using it in.
Anyway, your beef is delicious. We will definitely be ordering beef from only your farm from now on. I am excited to use the other cuts in recipes! Hi Trish. Made an English Roast last night, it was delicious. I saved the broth it cooked in, and I always put it in the fridge to cool so I can scrape the fat off. There is no fat to scrape off. DebbieDebra Giewont Erie PA
